The stands were packed at Onchan Stadium. The crowds were silent
as the drivers lined up in the mini-cars.With the starting flag in his hand, Mr Roy Knight got them away.

The crowd roared as Freddie and the Dreamers raced against the girls from Ivy Benson's band.
For a while it was a ding-dong struggle.

Who won? Freddie and the Dreamers. "But the girls were great" said Freddie.

Now the girls are eager to have a return challange. And in the meantime
both teams intend to get in plenty of practice at Onchan.
