I remember at one point in the summer of 1958, money was disappearing from our dressing rooms; so to make sure none of mine vanished I put my money, change and bills down my socks.

This day was particularly hot so to get some relief I proceeded to roll down my socks consequently the money rolled all around the stage. The audience were laughing delightedly as I scrambled about the floor picking it all up. I felt sorry for Wendy who was singing "The Holy City" at the time and seeing me out of the corner of her eye and trying her best not to laugh.

Ivy just shook her head as much as here she goes again.
